Weber DGV Rebuild
I'd love to go back and do all this over again, but I don't have a DGV on hand any more. Hopefully, the info will help someone, if only by showing them that this isn't rocket science. The Weber DGV is a very simple carb to rebuild and a great "first" carb for a beginner. The Hitachi is has a lot more little pieces inside, but you, basically, rebuild it the same way.....carefully take it apart, keeping track of where everything went, clean the parts, reassemble with new parts.
Typically, the Weber kits seem to run about $30-40. The Hitachi is around $18-22. The Weber is twice the cost, but also twice as easy.
I've put the videos up on youtube since weebly has a 100mb file size limit. Youtube was way faster and easier. But I do love how easy it is to build this site on weebly!

I think this diagram can be found on Redline's site. It's the exploded parts diagram for the 32/36. It does not list the jets as they are in your carb, just generic part numbers that came in the basic carb setup. You carb will most likely have different jets installed. Thanks for the file George. :)

Here's a bunch of close-ups and reference pics for details you can't see in the vids. The carb is mounted on an L-series engine in a '69 Datsun 510. Pull up the full size pic to get any captions.
DUST SEAL PLATE LOCATION
In response to a youtube viewer(Jenny), I'm posting up a few pics captured from the web to show where the dust seal plate and dust seal plug go. They typically show up as items 8 and 9 on the schematics.
Sorry they're not better pics or originals, but hopefully, these will help. I don't remember this part, but it looks like the dust seal plate slides in from the side, then the linkage gets passed through it. The seal plug covers the slot to help seal the opening. The seal plate and the seal plug are there to help stop the air, debris and dust from being pulled into the carb via the linkage opening, bypassing the air cleaner.
Look for the cursor hand or arrow in each pic.
